We Have Encountered Three Seasons We have seen your tree top canopy carpet your fire escape floor with its buds and leaves of primal prehistoric green. We discovered love. We climbed your roof with blanket and flute, touched the summer sun and stretched our eyes upon these mountains of wrought brick sculpted across the skies. We frolicked at love and found we were real. We now eat apples, and plums ~ The cherries are long past. The maples turn up north and here too the air is crisp. We have now encountered three seasons and must, continue hold close this seed, We are left now in trust to grow.
