Of Lessons Learned

No more shall I with unexplained welcome

as an open book

show patience and deference

In allowing other's dreams

to subsume my reality.

I live not for their dreams.

I live not in their dreams.

I seek not a faire-tale future

with a woman of 'my dreams' ~

neither an objectification to grow old with,

the possessive blood myths of human love nor,

an imagination of some missing part.

I am content in my present.

Undisturbed, I would share it.

But, only in that respect of understanding:

would that it be

even into the present of future days

Where there is not yet peace: let there be order.

Where there is neither peace nor order; nothing shall grow.
